The Heart As Compass

“And the way forward always in the end
the way that you followed, the way that carried you
into your future, that brought you to this place,
no matter that it sometimes took your promise from you,
no matter that it had to break your heart along the way…

and that every step along the way, you had carried
the heart and the mind and the promise
that first set you off and drew you on and that you were
more marvelous in your simple wish to find a way
than the gilded roofs of any destination you could reach…”

Trust in the Mystery

“… to be human
is to become visible
while carrying
what is hidden
as a gift to others…”
~ David Whyte

This is so beautiful. We all carry certain gifts, visible and hidden, known and unknown. Unknown sometimes even to ourselves, which is why it’s so important to honor who we are, just as we are.

A little prayer from the heart, to do just that. Open myself up to all the gifts unknown, to trust in the mystery.

Mother earth, father god,
Help me surrender.
Show me how to give in.
Into my heart,
And never give up.

Resting In The Infinite

These words are speaking right to my heart:

{The Well of Stars} by David Whyte

“… But it takes a little while to get there,
all the unburdening
and the laying down
and the willingness
to really tire yourself,
and then step by step,
the way
the poets through time
generously gave themselves
to us,
walking pilgrims
through doubt,
combining their fear,
their fierceness and their faith.

And you now,
in the front of the room
under the fluorescent light
by the reflected window,
hiding all the stars
you have forgotten…

There, for all to see,
the well of stars,
and the great night from which you were born.”

After last night’s Honey Full Moon, I took all that full moon juju, that rocked and shook me into looking at things a bit differently, and tucked it in this medicine pouch. It whispers a reminder to see joy in all the little things and just choose happy.
