The Whole World Just Wants To Speak To You

The warm Solstice air,
taking shape in every wisp of cloud.

The entire spectrum of evening colors,
reaching towards you.

Stop and Listen.
Listen and Rejoice.
The whole world just wants to speak to you.

The Apprentice

Every step on the path
Unsure and uncertain
Feeling the other knowing
In the Heart
No sound in the voice
The urge is
Present and clear
The way forward
Obscured
I can only offer
My most sincere
And open desire
To apprentice
With the Mysteries of Life.

Resurrection

From last night’s Full Moon‬ deep diving excavation…

But now we can choose to
remember who we are…

Open our minds, eyes and hearts
when they are closed by confusion…

This is how heaven grows in us; and love.

Every Breath a Blessing

Sacred Smoke - Jenn Grosso

Divine Breath
{Poem by Jenn Grosso}

The wisp of Sacred Smoke
Calling me
To slow my world
Right down
And take a breath
And another
And yet another.

To remember this place
Dwelling inside
That never leaves me.

Breathing in
I am
Breathing out
I have already arrived.

Journey of the Heart

10563112_10152640952917457_7998859733261158442_n

I’m so excited to be finally holding this gem in my hands – and I couldn’t feel more humbled that some of my poetry is included within these pages with the voices of so many other amazing poetesses. This is the second time that my words have been published in a compilation and a third is on the horizon. I am so grateful for these awesome opportunities.

Get your copy of Journey of the Heart {An Anthology of Spiritual Poetry by Women} on Amazon here and check out the website that started it all – Women’s Spiritual Poetry.

Interested in my other published contribution, the Best of Rebelle Society Vol. 1 can also be found on Amazon here.

Words can truly be medicine for the heart and soul.

Not Saved

In Progress Mandala

For those discouraging days, when we might catch ourselves asking to be saved from challenging emotions, a reminder that it’s all grist for the mill. When we can ease gently into our unpleasant thoughts and feelings, we begin to surrender little by little and see the lessons behind it all, feeling it all, learning from it all. No saving necessary.

Not Saved
{A Poem} by Jenn Grosso

Those days
When we carry a heavy heart
And sadness wells up inside
The tears pour out uncontrollably
We hope for salvation.
This notion of being saved
It doesn’t come from the outside
And it’s not about saving ourselves
From discomfort
But with every painful emotion
We can release our grip
Onto expecting it to go away.
Instead
See that we are meeting our teacher
And honor the humanness
That brings us to our knees.
Know that place inside
Unaffected by the mind’s waves
That sees us as beautifully
Part of it all
Not needing any saving.

When We Hit The Wall

The ebb and flow of the creative process presents us with two very different ways of looking at the times of stillness. It can feel like a dreaded curse, or an invitation to enter our soft inner cocoon and transform, even just a little.

This poem is for everyone who has ever felt stuck, lost and hopeless, and is a reminder that only in the darkness can we see the stars.

When We Hit The Wall

{A Poem} By Jenn Lui

The landscape before us changes
There is an unbearable stillness
In the air that grows stale and wretch
All colors fade and retreat

The great expanse curls and shrivel
Dries up on itself and shrinks
Hardened and cruel
Into the wall before us pressing tightly

The air grows thicker and thicker
Gasping and panicking we scream
Our bloody fingers scratching
For freedom beyond this confinement

We look up and see the engulfing dark sky above
Stars shining brighter than ever before
Amazed and bewildered we stare
And see the same stars in each other’s eyes

We remember once again the greatest truth
Of the magnificent illusion
The continuous nature of time and space
Our hurried heart beats begin to slow

Suddenly the hard and jagged walls soften
Surrounding us instead like a blanket
Warm and gentle beckoning us to rest
Our healing cocoon holding us safely

When we hit the wall
It can be hard, cold and cruel
Or softly inviting us to transformation
Until we emerged anew into the world

Bleed it out

Photo: Bleed it out by Jenn Grosso

Within this stuck-ness, if I can dig a little deeper and open myself up a little more, there’s a well inside waiting. Waiting for me to have the courage to embrace it all and bleed it out.

“There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed.”
