The Light Through The Darkness

How curious it is that true Brilliance can only be seen glimmering in the Darkness, and true Stillness found amidst Chaos. The dualities of Life never cease to amaze me.

Found Freedoms of the Heart

An April Full Moon blessing for the new beginnings of Spring and found freedoms of the Heart.

For Light and Darkness:
“Light cannot see inside things.
That is what the dark is for:
Minding the interior,
Nurturing the draw of growth
Through places where death
In its own way turns to Life.”

For Shifting Seasons:
“The tight solitude of a seed,
Allowing it time
To shed the grip of former form
And give way to a deeper generosity
that will one day send it forth,
A tree into springtime,
May all that holds you
Fall from its hungry ledge
Into the fecund surge of your Heart.”

~John O’Donohue in “Bless the Space Between Us”

The Heart As Compass

“And the way forward always in the end
the way that you followed, the way that carried you
into your future, that brought you to this place,
no matter that it sometimes took your promise from you,
no matter that it had to break your heart along the way…

and that every step along the way, you had carried
the heart and the mind and the promise
that first set you off and drew you on and that you were
more marvelous in your simple wish to find a way
than the gilded roofs of any destination you could reach…”

It’s Never Too Late

{A Heart Reminder}

“It’s not too late… the angel said.
Even though the world’s a mess…
Even though you’re not as young…
Even though you’ve made mistakes and have been afraid
It’s not too late…
And then I saw the world through the angels’ eyes…
I saw the colors I could paint
The bridges I could build
The lives that I could touch
The dreams that could still come true
And it became very clear to me…
That it’s not too late.”
~Ron Atchison

With every rising sun a new opportunity
To do what we can, however small
And to keep at it every day
Because it’s never too late.

Lightly & Gently

Tending to the spaces {in-between} each breath…
{Tread lightly and gently} has become my new Mantra.

“It’s dark because you are trying too hard. Lightly child, lightly. Learn to do everything lightly. Yes, feel lightly even though you’re feeling deeply. So throw away your baggage and go forward. There are quicksands all about you, sucking at your feet, trying to suck you down into fear and self-pity and despair. That’s why you must walk so lightly. Lightly my darling…” ~ Aldous Huxley

Anatomical Collage by Travis Bedel

“Each living thing’s sacred space lives in between the in breath and the out breath. We cannot always see its outer boundaries, but the center of its home is nestled in the space between two heartbeats.” ~ Jamie Sams

And we are never more than a breath away from home. {Paper Prayers – Five}

February Stillness

“Stillness is the altar of spirit.” ~ Paramahansa Yogananda

+ Don’t ever forget…

‪{Your true nature is luminous}

“Forgetfulness of your real nature is true death; remembrance of it is rebirth”

“Remain still, with the conviction that the Self shines as everything yet nothing, within, without, and everywhere.” ~ Ramana Maharshi

Paper Prayers

New Year Paper Prayer

Open space
becoming sanctuaries
cyclical return
new birth
New Year‬.

Many blessings to all as we embark upon a new year with new adventures and lessons. I don’t really do resolutions or yearly words, however I do feel the New Year mojo and set intentions for myself and my work for the year ahead. I’m beginning 2015 with a new Found Poetry Project: Paper Prayers.

The words will make themselves known…

A Desperate Effort
